16th November, 2024 @ BJILS: On Saturday, November 16, 2024, the Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies (BJILS) organized a grand event for the inauguration of its newly formed Student Council. The ceremony was marked by a series of activities, speeches, and the formal introduction of the student leaders, highlighting the institute's commitment to nurturing leadership and student involvement. The event was graced by several prominent guests, including Mr. K R Pandith Senior Advocate, Bar Association, Moodbidri; Mr. R. Prashanth D’Souza, President of the Bhuvana Jyothi Trust; Correspondent Mr. Prashanth N; Treasurer Mrs. Latha A; Advisor Mr. Sharanappa M Bhavi; Principal Dr. Pradeep MD; Student Welfare Officer Dr. Kaushik C; and the newly elected members of the Student Council. The event commenced with the arrival of distinguished guests, followed by a call to the dais by the Student Welfare Officer, Dr. Kaushik D, and the Principal, Mr. Pradeep MD. The program began with a devotional prayer song sung by Ananya, setting a solemn tone for the occasion. The Principal, Mr. Pradeep MD, delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting the gathering and highlighting the importance of student leadership in the academic environment. This was followed by the lighting of the lamp, marking the official inauguration of the Student Council. A significant part of the ceremony was the oath-taking, led by Dr. Kaushik C, in which the newly elected Student Council members pledged their commitment to serving their peers with integrity and dedication. The Student Council members then addressed the audience. The President, Prakash D, expressed his gratitude and outlined his vision for the council. Secretary Jenitha Divya Nazareth, Vice President Suha Shaik, and Joint Secretary Mandar Moodbidri also shared their thoughts, promising to work towards the betterment of the student body. Mr. KR Pandith, a respected guest of the event, gave the inaugural address. His words resonated with encouragement, inspiring the newly appointed student leaders to uphold their responsibilities. In a special moment, the official Student Council logo was unveiled, designed by Ashwath, whose submission won a competition held earlier. Mr. KR Pandith was instrumental in selecting the logo, which now symbolizes the unity and vision of the Student Council.
In recognition of the spirit of cultural engagement, BJILS had earlier organized competitions in celebration of Kannada Rajyotsava on November 4. The prize distribution ceremony for the winners was conducted by Mr. KR Pandith and President R. Prashanth D'Souza, who applauded the students' enthusiasm and creativity. The event concluded with the Presidential Address by Mr. Prashanth D'Souza, who encouraged the students to take an active role in shaping the future of BJILS. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by the Correspondent, Mr. Prashanth N, expressing appreciation to the guests, faculty, and students for their participation. The ceremony was skillfully conducted by the Master of Ceremony, Vikhil V. Salian, who ensured the event proceeded smoothly. This inauguration ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter in the student leadership at BJILS, as the Student Council takes on its pivotal role in the academic and cultural life of the institute.
