22nd March, 2025: The Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies had the privilege of hosting a guest lecture on the topic "The Intersection of Economics and Law: Understanding the Role of Economic Principles in Legal Decision Making." The distinguished speaker Dr. Prasannakumara T., a renowned scholar in the fields of economics and law delivered the lecture. The session commenced with a warm welcome extended by the faculty and students, followed by an introduction to Dr. Prasannakumara T., highlighting his contributions to legal and economic studies. He began the lecture by emphasizing the growing significance of economic principles in shaping legal frameworks and judicial decision-making processes. Dr. Prasannakumara T. elaborated on the key economic theories and their applications in the legal contexts referring to cost-benefit analysis, market efficiency, and economic reasoning in legal judgments. He provided insightful examples where economic principles have played a crucial role in legal rulings, illustrating how law and economics are interdependent in areas such as antitrust regulations, contract law, and property rights. The interactive session encouraged students to engage in discussions and pose questions related to real-world legal cases influenced by economic theories. Dr. Prasannakumara T. addressed various queries, offering in-depth explanations and practical perspectives on the subject. The session was highly informative and thought-provoking, leaving the attendees with a deeper understanding of how economic principles influence legal decision-making. About 40 students of the 5-year B.B.A., LL.B. and 3-year LL.B. have attended the guest lecture Assistant Professors of the department Prof. Sanghamitra Roy Pai, Prof. Deepthi G Bhat, Prof. Priya and Prof. Kiran attended the lecture. The principal of the institution, Dr. Pradeep M.D presided over the guest lecture. Mr. Niraj, a student of IInd Sem B.B.A., LL. B, was the master of the ceremony, the welcome address was delivered by Mr Nikhil of IInd Sem LL.B. Ms Sanusha of IInd Sem B.B.A., LL.B, introduced the resource person to the gathering. Ms Pushpa of IInd Sem LL. B, concluded with a vote of thanks. The guest lecture was a great success, fostering intellectual curiosity and enriching the academic experience of students at Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies.

Visit to Kantavara Forest Base Camp on 18th March, 2025
March 18th, 2024: The NSS unit of Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies organized an enriching trip to Kantavara Forest Base Camp, offering students a unique opportunity to experience nature and understand the significance of environmental conservation. The trip aimed to foster awareness about forest ecosystems, biodiversity, and wildlife conservation. Students engaged in various activities, including nature trails, interactive sessions with forest officials, and discussions on environmental laws and sustainable practices. The camp also emphasized the role of legal frameworks in protecting natural resources. The visit not only provided hands-on learning but also strengthened the students’ commitment to environmental responsibility. The NSS team expressed gratitude to the forest authorities for their guidance and support in making the trip a memorable and educational experience.. About 35 students of the 5-year B.B.A., LL.B. and 3-year LL.B. have visited the Kantavara Forest Base Camp. Assistant Professors of the department Prof. Sanghamitra Roy Pai, Prof. Deepthi G Bhat, and Prof. Kiran visited the camp. The principal of the institution, Dr. Pradeep M.D. emphasized the importance of experiential learning and encouraged students to actively participate in such initiatives that bridge academics with real-world environmental challenges.
