'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' Celebration- 2024

October 2024 @ BJILS: The institute has organized a pledge-taking ceremony to mark the occasion of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. The birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 31st October with great enthusiasm throughout the country. it is a day to recognize the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as the architect of independent India and to re-affirm our commitment to ensure the security, unity and integrity of the nation. In celebration of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, the students of 5 Year B.B.A., LL.B and 3 Year LL.B have taken a pledge of unity on 30th October, 2024 at 2.05 p.m. During the occasion, Dr. Koushik C, Student Welfare Officer of the Institute and Mr. Sudhin M S, NSS Officer of the Institute were present.

I Solemnly pledge that I declare myself to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation and also strive hard to spread this message among my fellow countrymen. I take this pledge in the spirit of unification of my country which was made possible by the vision and actions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. I also solemnly resolve to make my own contribution to ensure internal security of my country. 

Orientation about SSP Registration by Mr. Ashok @ BJILS on 29.10.2024

29th October 2024 @ BJILS: The institution has organized a practical orientation session on ''Registration to SSP Portal" by Mr. Ashok to the eligible students for the Other Backward Class Scholarship Schemes from the 5 Year B.B.A., LL.B and 3 Year LL.B courses of the institute. The resource person has demonstrated the online registration process to the SSP Portal and explained the possible technical glitches that can hinder the registration process. He also highlighted the documents required by the candidates to be uploaded during the registration process. About 40 students have participated in the session. Dr. Koushik C, Assistant Professor of Law introduced the resource person to the gathering. Students have cleared doubts about the registration process.

Vigilance Awareness Week Celebration @ Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies on 28th October, 2024.

 28th October, 2024 @ BJILS: The Teaching and Non Teaching staff of the institute have taken pledge against corruption in celebrating the 'Vigilance Awareness Week' on 28th October, 2024. The staff have sworn on the below pledge.

PLEDGE 

I believe that corruption has been one of the major obstacle to economic, political and social progress of our country. I believe that all stakeholders such as Government, Citizens and Private Sector need to work together to eradicate corruption. 

I realise that every citizen should be vigilant and commit to highest standards of honesty and integrity at all times and support the fight against corruption. I therefore, pledge:

1. To follow probity and rule of law in all walks of life;

2. To neither take nor offer bribe;

3. To perform all tasks in an honest and transparent manner;

4. To act in public interest;

5. To lead by example exhibiting integrity in personal behaviour;

6. To report any incident or corruption to the appropriate agency.

Guest Lecture on "Soft Skills for Law Students" by Dr. Shirley Thomas on 26th October, 2024 @BJILS

26th October, 2024 @ BJILS: The institute has organised guest lecture on the topic "Soft Skills for Law Students' by Dr. Shirley T Babu, Soft Skill Trainer on 26th October, 2024 at 11.30 a.m. The resource person started the event with ice breaking sessions and oriented students into the soft skills such as communication, persistence, researching, empathy, conversing, holistic understanding, leadership, life skills, recording, negotiation, time management etc. The student were driven to the core of skills through management games. About 45 students of both 5 Year B.B.A.,LL.B and 3 Year LL.B Courses attended the programme. Dr. Pradeep M D, The Principal of the institute, Faculties, Mrs. Sanghamithra Roy Pai, Ms. Sowmya, Mr. Sudhin MS were present during the occasion. 














Student Interaction with Police Inspector held on 24th October, 2024

 24th October 2024 @ BJILS: The institute has organized a student interaction with Police Inspector on the topic 'Cyber Crime and its Prevention' at Urwa Police Station, Mangaluru on 24th October 2024 at 12. p.m. Mrs. Bharathi, Police Inspector, at Urwa Police Station, has discussed emerging cyber crimes, their vigor, types of cyber frauds happening, and precautions from cyber crimes. The student was educated to be prudent and secure while using social media, smartphones, ATMs, debit and credit cards, online shopping websites, auto debit options, tap cards, illegal parcels etc. The students were informed to report any cases of cyber crime immediately to 112 or Cyber Help Lines No. 1930 to prevent the further loss.  Dr. Pradeep M.D, Principal of the Institute along with Faculties Dr. Koushik C, Mrs. Sanghamitra Roy Pai, Mr. Sudhin M.S., Ms. Divya were present. About 53 students participated in the interaction.




Guest Lecture on "History of Land Revenue and Land Records" by Mr. Mohan Panikkar on 22nd October, 2024

22nd October, 2024 @ BJILS: The institute has organised guest lecture on the topic 'History of Land Revenue and Land Records' by Mr. Mohan Panikkar, (Retd. Deputy Tahsildar), Kasaragod on 22nd October, 2024 at 11.30 a.m. The resource person introduced the audience to the oldest land aspects such as Guntar, Gadikallu, Heriditary Property, dispute resolution through panchayat, rights of the tahsildar upon land grants and land records. The programme was presided by Mr. Prashanth D'Souza, Secretary of the Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies. Mrs. Latha A, Treasurer, Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies was present during the occassion. About 60 students from B.B.A.,LL.B and LL.B courses actively participated in the interaction session with the speaker and clarified their doubts.

Guest Lecture on 'Consumer Protection Act, 2019- An Overview by Mrs. Aswini D'Souza on 18.10.2024

18th October, 2024: Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies has organised a 'Guest Lecture' on the topic 'Consumer Protection Act, 2019- An overview by Mrs. Aswini D'Souza, Advocate, Practicing in Civil and Criminal Litigations, Moodbidri on 18th October, 2024 at 11.30 a.m. The resource person  has highlighted on the issues of consumerism, legal protections available for the redressal of consumer disputes, Consumer dispute resolution forums, rights of consumers against black marketing, authorities to redress the consumer disputes, lay mans responsibilities in protecting the consumer rights. Students have clarified practical consumer problems they face in their daily life. About 60 students from B.B.A.,LL.B and LL.B have participated in the event. 


















'Saraswati Pooja' held on 11th October, 2024 @ Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies.

 11th October, 2024: Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies, Shirthady has organized 'Saraswati Pooja' celebration on Friday, 11th October 2024 at 9.00 a.m. All the students, staff and management attended the pooja in traditional outfits. The institute has also carried "Ganapathi Homa" as a ritual to seek the blessings of lord Vigneshwara for the smooth functioning of the institute. The members of the management, staff and students have offered prayers to ma Saraswati during occasion at the library. The students have carried 'Bhajan' during the celebration. The priest while performing the rituals have prayed for the overall wellbeing of all the students admitted to the institute, good performance of all the stake holders and social betterment of all. The program ended with lunch in banana leaf to all the participants.
