A Public Charitable Trust named Bhuvana Jyothi Education Trust with a zeal of imparting legal education to students hailing from rural areas has constituted Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies in 2024 at Shirthady village of Moodbidri taluk in Dakshina Kannada district. The institute is affiliated to Karnataka Sate Law University, Hubballi and approved by Bar Council of India, New Delhi. The institute offers 5 Year integrated B.B.A.,LL.B and 3 Year LL.B courses from the academic year 2024-25. The institute aims to disseminate legal education with modern approaches to instill the holistic development of students. The vision of the institute is to create responsible and passionate legal professionals to upheld the 'Constitutional Values' for the common good. The institute is powered by a team of experienced faculties, supporting staff, legal practitioners and service-minded professionals. The faculty team is determined to provide a compassionate learning experience to all students with an enriched curriculum, co-curricular and extra-curricular engagements. The institute desires to start useful add-on programs on short hand training, soft skill and computer education by collaborating with other esteemed institutions. The teaching and learning pedagogies of the institute will certainly induct students into the multifaceted legal education by indicating the vigor of legal temperament, confidence, commitment and hard work. 
The institute will provide opportunities to achieve both academic excellence and holistic development of students. Practical training shall be imparted through moot court trails and visit to courts, law chambers, legal aid cells etc. Students and faculties will be engaged in research activities to instill the spirit of inquiry among them. The institute will start an open access International Journal in open journal systems to encourage publication. In order to minimize the gap between theory and practice students shall be exposed to social outreach activities, internships, legal literacy programs, industry-academia collaboration initiatives, experts talks etc.
The institute has set up state of the art infrastructure with the requisite ICT aided classrooms, well equipped moot court hall, well stocked library, canteen, sports facilities to enrich learning experience during the study. The study will facilitate students to set up their career as advocates, corporate legal advisors, law officers, judges, magistrates, attorneys, public prosecutors, notary public, bureaucrats, researchers, academicians etc.
Our aim is to produce law professionals with courage, conviction, integrity, discipline, compassion and humanity. We strongly believe that 'Rigorous and Consistent Learning along with the spirit of enquiry will lead us towards academic excellence. In the coming days under the able guidance of our management and well wishers, we definitely will set new benchmark in the field of legal education with quality and excellence.

Local Inspection Committee visited Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies for inspection on 13/07/2023 at 2 p.m. The Committee comprised of the following members.

The Chairperson and Members of the Committee visited Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies on 12th December 2023 at 9.00 a.m.

Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme to the aspirants and Parents of B.B.A.,LL.B students on 10th August, 2024

Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme to Short Listed BBA,LL.B Candidates and Parents

10th August, 2024, Shirthady Moodbidri: Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies in commemoration of Anit-Ragging Day celebrated on 12th August every year has organized an Anti-ragging Awareness program to the short-listed candidates of  BBA, LLB Course and their parents to create awareness on the issues connected to anti-ragging issues, legal consequences, psychological trauma associated to the issue, family interventions to prevent ragging cases in the higher education. The Anti-Ragging awareness programme was presided over by Mrs. Latha A, Treasurer, Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies and Mr. Prashanth N, Correspondent, Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies both have stressed on the consequences of ragging issues in the college and advised students to lead the college life in a more cordial and studious way by best using the facilities provided by the institute. Mr. Kaushik, Assistant Professor of the college gave the introductory talk on significance of legal education and need for combating ragging at higher education. Dr. Pradeep M.D. The principal of the institute have oriented on the consequences of ragging cases and provided the implications of Anti-Ragging Cell functioning at the college and urged students to report any instances of ragging immediately to the constituted cell. The students and parents expressed their opinion on Ragging issues and need to combat it with very rigid measures. The institute has also organised a online slogan writing competition, poster making and essay competitions to the students. The program ended with refreshment to all the participants. Mr. Saleem, Clerk of the Institute and Ms. Divya, Librarian were also present during the occasion.

 Inauguration of Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies 

10th August 2024 Shirthady Moodbidri: Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies was inaugurated by Hon'ble Mr. S. Abdul Nazeer, Hon'ble Governor, Andra Pradesh in the kind presence of Hon'ble Mr. Justice Krishna S Dixit, Judge, High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru, Prof. Dr. C. Basavaraju, Vice Chancellor, KSLU Hubballi, Mr. Vishalaraghu H L, Chairman, Karnataka State Bar Council, Bengaluru and Mr. Ravindra M Joshi, Principal District and Session Judge, Dakshina Kannada. The governor in his inaugural address emphasised upon following 7 bad deeds quoting 'Vachana Sahithya' of Basavanna to have a peaceful society. He also urged all people to practice law from their homes in order to eliminate the legal troubles. Hon'ble Justice Krishna S Dixit during his speech appreciated the struggle of 5 teachers to start an institute to impart legal education which is the need of the day. He said that only education can lighten the soul and society. Prof. Dr. C. Basavaraju stated about the significance of quality in legal education and the responsibilities which shall be shouldered by advocates and legal professionals. Mr. Vishalaraghu H L congratulated the institute for starting legal education for the rural youths. Mr. Ravindra M Joshi said that legal education will empower students to practice Constitutional values for the common good. Mr. Raghavendra Prabhu, President of Bhuvana Jyothi Education Trust, Mrs. Latha A, Treasurer of the trust, Mr. Sharanappa M Bhavi, adviser of Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies and members of governing council Mr. K Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Mr. Pavan Kumar, Mr. Mayura Keerthi, Mr. Bannadi Somnath Hegde were present during the occasion, Mr. R. Prashanth D'Souza, Secretary Bhuvan Jyothi Education Trust performed the welcome address, Dr. Pradeep M.D. The principal of the college spoke about the vision of the institute and Mr. Prashanth N, Correspondent of the Institute proposed the Vote of Thanks. Advocate Subramanya Kumar A, was the master of the Ceremony for the inaugural program.
