Senior Advocates Sri. M. Bahubali Prasad, Sri. Harish P, Sri. Praveen S Lobo and Sri. Jaya Prakash Bhandary visited BJILS on 06.06.2025

6th June, 2025 @ BJILS: Senior Advocate Sri. M. Bahubali Prasad, Founder President of Moodbidri Bar Association, Sri. Harish P, President of Moodbidri Bar Association and Notary Public, Sri. Praveen S Lobo, Ex. General Secretary, Bar Association, Moodbidri and Sri. Jaya Prakash Bhandary, Advocate, Bar Association moodbidri has visited Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies on 6th June, 2025 at 1.30 p.m. The team of advocates visited the college library, moot court hall and witnessed the other infrastructure provided by the institute to its students. Advocates had an interaction with the management of the BJILS in which the need for having a High Court bench at Mangalore and the role played by the advocates and law students in this regard were brought to our notice. The need for making home visits around the institute to create public awareness on the benefits to the general public due to the constitution of High Court Bench at Mangaluru was discussed. Mr. Raghavendra Prabhu, President of the Bhuvana Jyothi Education Trust, Shirthady, Mr. R. Prashanth D'Souza, Secretary, Bhuvana Jyothi Education Trust, Shirthady, Mr. Prashanth N, Correspondent of the institute, Mrs. Latha A, Treasurer of the institute, Mr. Sharanappa M Bhavi, Adviser of the Institute and Dr. Pradeep M.D. principal of the institute were present. Mr. Kiran, faculty of the institute, was also present on the occasion. 









Parents-Teachers Meet held at BJILS on 3rd June, 2025

 3rd June, 2025 @ BJILS: The institute has organised the Parent-Teachers Meet to discuss the effective dissemination of the legal education along with reviewing the performances of students in every subject. The parents were also given time to put forth their suggestions to improve our service further. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Prashanth N, Correspondent of Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies. In his presidential remarks he has highlighted on the importance of using the facilities provided by the institution to the best of the benefits of the students and also urged parents to get in touch with faculties and principal to get timely inputs on the studies of their ward. Dr. Pradeep M.D. the principal of the institute has given a brief introduction about the activities of the institution carried during the academic year 2024-25. He has highlighted about the various facilities such as SC/ST book bank facility, Management Sponsored Course Fee Assistance Program, Course fee Concession, Scholarship facility, Free Hostels facility, Installment in fee payment, education loan facility etc. Mr. Kiran, Assistant Professor of the institute, has proposed the welcome address and Dr. Shirley T Babu, guest faculty, has proposed the vote of thanks. Prof. Sanghamitra Roy Pai, Ms. Priya Jenita DSouza were present during the occasion. About 25 parents has attended the meeting and gave suggestions to improve the course of our services.

Mr. Mandar secured Second Place in Yaksha Nrithya held at AJ Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mangalore.

23rd May, 2025 @ BJILS: Mr. Mandar, student of first year B.B.A.,LL.B has represented Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies in the 'Yaksha Nrithya" during the event AAKAR 2025 organised by the A J Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mangalore on 21st May, 2025. Mr. Mandar has secured second prize in the competition and brought laurel to the institute. The management, staff and students congratulates him on his good work and wish him good luck for his future endeavours.

World Red Cross Day Celebration with a theme "Keeping Humanity Alive" @ BJILS on 8th May, 2025.

8th May, 2025 @ BJILS: World Red Cross Day was marked with enthusiasm and purpose at Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies, Shirthady, on May 8, 2025. The event, organized in association with the IQAC, Student Council, and Red Cross unit, brought together the campus community to spotlight the enduring values of humanity and service. The program began at 10:30 a.m., with an active presence of Smt. Latha, Treasurer of Bhuvana Jyothi Educational Trust, Sri. Kiran, NSS Programme Officer; Ms. Sowmya, Assistant Professor along with the Management, Principal, staff, and members of Student Council. Their participation underscored the institute’s deep commitment to humanitarian ideals. The highlight of the day was an impactful address by Pushparaj K, Assistant Professor at SDM Law College and Centre for Post Graduate Studies in Law, Mangalore. He spoke passionately about the essence of Red Cross Day, emphasizing that "humanity is above any religion" a message that resonated strongly with the audience and aligned with the core mission of the Red Cross movement. He highlighted how the Red Cross Movement rooted in the vision of Henry Dunant, transcends barriers of race, creed, and nationality to serve those in need during crises, disasters, and conflicts. This year’s global theme, “Keeping Humanity Alive,” resonated throughout the program, reminding attendees of the selfless dedication of Red Cross volunteers worldwide. The gathering not only celebrated the legacy of the Red Cross but also inspired students and staff to carry forward the torch of compassion, unity, and service to society. The event concluded with a renewed pledge to uphold humanitarian values, making the occasion memorable and meaningful for all present.

Guest Lecture on Human Rights Held at Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies on 12th April 2025

12th April, 2025 @ BJILS: The Institute has hosted an enlightening guest lecture today on the "Evolution of Human Rights and Judicial Activism" delivered by prominent legal expert Dr. Smita Satapathy. The lecture, which was well-attended by students and faculty members, explored the intricate relationship between human rights development and the role of the judiciary in shaping rights jurisprudence over time. Dr. Satapathy, who has published extensively on constitutional law and human rights, provided a comprehensive overview of how human rights concepts have evolved from philosophical principles to enforceable legal rights. She highlighted significant judicial decisions from various courts that have expanded the scope and understanding of human rights protections. "The judiciary has transformed from being passive interpreters to active guardians of constitutional values," Dr. Satapathy explained during her presentation. She emphasized how judicial activism has been instrumental in addressing gaps in legislative frameworks and ensuring rights protection for marginalized communities. The lecture sparked engaging discussions among attendees, with particular interest in recent landmark judgments that have redefined rights jurisprudence. Students actively participated in the question-and-answer session following the main address. Dr. Pradeep MD, Principal of BJILS, praised the session as "an invaluable contribution to our academic discourse." He noted that such expert interactions are crucial for developing critical thinking among future legal professionals. This lecture is part of BJILS's continuing initiative to bring distinguished scholars and practitioners to campus, exposing students to diverse perspectives in the legal field. About 40 students of the 5-year B.B.A., LL.B. and 3-year LL.B. courses attended the seminar. Assistant Professors of the department Prof. Sanghamitra Roy Pai, Prof. Deepthi G Bhat, Prof. Sowmya, Prof. Priya D’Souza were present during the event. Mr. Prakash D, the students of LL.B, was the master of ceremony, the welcome address and introduction of guest was delivered by Ms. Meghana of L.L.B.  Mr. Ranjith IInd Sem  L.L.B has proposed the Vote of thanks. The session was very interesting, with intellectual understanding of the topic by the participants.

Guest Lecture on "Healthy beginnings today for hopeful tomorrow" by Dr. Hadiya Rehman @BJILS on 7th April, 2025

07th April, 2025 @ BJILS: The institute in collaboration with Red Cross Wing and Guest Lecture Committee, commemorated 'World Health Day' on the theme "Healthy Beginnings Today for a Hopeful Tomorrow," by organising a guest lecture by Dr. Hadiya Rehman, Medical Officer, Primary Health Centre, Shirthady. Dr. Rehman delivered an insightful lecture emphasizing the critical importance of early healthcare interventions in the rural communities. She highlighted the challenges faced by the underserved population and presented practical solutions to improve healthcare. The basic foundation for a healthy Society starts with equitable access to healthcare for all. Dr. Rehman elaborated on providing preventative healthcare strategies with minimal resources. During the interactive session, attendees interacted with Dr. Rehman on healthcare issues. The participants have taken a pledge to promote health awareness in their respective communities.  About 40 students of 5 year B.B.A., LL.B. & 3 year LL.B. have attended the guest lecture. Ms. Lata Acharya Treasurer of Bhuvana Jyothi  Institute of Legal Studies has presided over the program. The teaching fraternity of the department Prof. Sanghamitra Roy Pai, Prof. Deepthi G Bhat, Prof. Priya, Prof Sowmya were present during the occasion. Ms. Ananaya, a student of second Semester LL. B performed the Master of Ceremony. Mr Mandar student of second semester B.B.A., LL.B. has delivered the welcome address,  Mr. Niraj student of second Semester B.B.A.,LL.B has introduced the resource person to the gathering. Mr. Mallikaarjun student of second semester LL.B has proposed the vote of thanks. The session was very interesting with intellectual understanding over the topic by the participants.
