BJILS Congratulates 

Expert Talk on "The Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019 by Advocate Rakesh Kumar on 29th November, 2025

29th November, 2025 @ BJILS: The institute has organised a expert talk by Advocate Rakesh Kumar on the topic 'The Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019 on 29th November, 2025 to the students of 1st Semester LL.B and 1st Semester B.B.A.,LL.B students in the college seminar hall. The resource person discussed aspects of motor vehicles, documents to be maintained by the owners, cases of road accidents, insurance and its types, registering motor vehicle cases and environmental concerns connected to the usage of vehicles. He also urged students to follow the traffic rules strictly. The talk has opened avenues for the students to clear their doubts about road accident and treatment, reporting of the theft of vehicles, role of police in implementing the motor vehicles act etc.

Constitutional Day Celebration by reading the Preamble of the Constitution and Essay Writing Competition @ BJILS on 26th November, 2025

26th November, 2025 @ BJILS: The institute has organised an 'Essay Competition' to commemorate the Indian Constitutional Day on 26th November, 2025, on the Topic "The Constitution: The Backbone of Indian Democracy" between 11.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. in the reading section of the college library. The students have carried out a pledge to follow the ideals of the Indian Constitution by reading out the "Preamble of the Indian Constitution" in the classroom. The oath-taking ceremony was led by Ms. Sakshi V Shetty, a student of the 3rd semester B.B.A., LL.B course. The Principal of the institute Dr. Pradeep M D highlighted the importance of the day and sought students to internalise the constitutional spirit and ideology in their day-to-day life. 


 









Essay competition On the Eve of Constitutional day @ BJILS on 26th November 2025

The Legal Aid Committee had organised an essay competition on the topic: "The Constitution: The Backbone of Indian Democracy ". On 26th November 2025 in Bhuvana Jyothi library.  The competition was conducted on Wednesday between 11:30 - 12:30 . Constitution Day is celebrated every year on 26th November to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India by the Constituent Assembly in 1949. To mark this significant occasion and foster a deeper understanding of the values and the principles enshrined in the Constitution Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies organised an essay writing competition for all the students of LLB and BBA LLB. The event aimed to encourage critical thinking and expression on the foundational laws of the land. The competition was organised to create awareness about the significance of the Constitution Day. And promotes a better understanding of the Fundamental Rights, Fundamental Duties, and Directive Principles of State Policy. To reflect upon the core values of Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity. The competition commenced promptly at 11:30 AM . A total 10 students from LLB and BBA LLB registered and participated in the event. Participants were briefed on the rules and evaluation criteria by the event coordinator Mrs Sanghamitra roy and the librarian Ms Divya. The essay achieved it's goal of promoting constitutional literacy and civic. After the essay competition concluded we had pledge taking ceremony. At 12:40 all the students, faculty members, and staff assembled in the classroom. The ceremony was followed by a motivating address delivered by the principal Dr. Pradeep M D. The address highlighted yhe tireless efforts of Dr. B R Ambedkar and the Constituent Assembly in drafting the Constitution.  And the Constitutional pledge was administered by the students. The solemnly read out the preamble of the Constitution, reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. The Constitutional day was highly effective in achieving its goals in promoting civic responsibility and Constitutional awareness.

Expert talk on 'Geriatrics & Legal Aid: Understanding Elder Rights and the Role of Law Students' by Mr. Jeevan on

24th November, 2025 @ BJILS: The institute has organised a expert talk on the topic "Geriatrics & Legal Aid: Understanding Elder Rights and the Role of Law Students" by Mr. Jeevan, Common Wealth Scholar, University of Southampton, U.K. on 24th November, 2025 between 10.15 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. The event aimed at creating awareness to students about the legal rights of the older adults and the crucial role of law students in assisting them to avail the legal aid from the District Legal Aid Authority.  to this vulnerable section of society. The event commenced with the Master of Ceremony by  Ms. Sakshi student of 2nd BBA.LL.B, who warmly welcomed the gathering and introduced the importance of the topic. She highlighted the growing need for legal awareness in the field of Geriatrics due to the increasing elderly population and related legal challenges. Following the welcome note, Mr. Niraj student of 2nd BBA.LL.B introduced the guest speaker, Mr. Jeevan, Common Wealth Scholar from the University of Southampton, UK. The introduction accentuated Mr. Jeevan’s expertise in legal studies and his commitment to legal aid for senior citizens. Mr. Jeevan delivered an insightful session on the legal rights of elderly citizens and their challenges faced to access the justice. He elaborated on various legal provisions available for protection and welfare of the elderly and emphasized the proactive role of law students in bridging the gap in availing the legal aid for seniors. The speaker's international perspective enriched the session, highlighting comparative legal aid systems and innovative approaches being practiced globally. The seminar was interactive, with participants posing questions and sharing their views on the importance of legal awareness among elders. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Rashmi student of 1st BBA.LL.B, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, speaker, organizers, and attendees for making the seminar a success. Overall, the seminar was a valuable educational experience, instilling a sense of responsibility among students towards elder rights and legal aid, fostering a deeper understanding of the subject matter. Such initiatives at Bhuvana Jyothi Institute of Legal Studies underscore the institution’s dedication to addressing contemporary social and legal issues through academic discourse and student engagement.
